PROGRAMME AREAS

CIAM has 2 primary target groups who are most vulnerable to disease - pregnant women and children under 5 years old.

We currently focus on malaria and HIV/AIDS but recognise the inter-relatedness of these with many other critical diseases.

Our current priorities are:

  1. Promotion of evidence-based decision making at all levels in the health sector.

  2. Filling the gaps in data and information which is critical to enable evidence based decision making to take place through operational research and monitoring and evaluation of national programmes.

  3. Bringing the ideas and knowledge of scientists, health policy makers and practitioners together to find practical ways to improve national services and assess pilot interventions in West Africa.

  4. Building capacity within the health sector in the region in critical areas such as monitoring and evaluation, data analysis and interpretation etc.
For more information about each programme area, please click the following links to hear more about Operational Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Engagement to Promote Health as well as Capacity Strengthening and Technical Assistance.
